- As part of promoting sports among employees and rural youth of NTPC Kaniha peripheral villages cricket tournament is being organised at Dr B R Ambedkar Stadium premises of the township which will be played from March 25-30,2019 and being participated by well known local six-cricket club teams from Kaniha,Talcher & Angul.The teams are Blue Riser Nalco, NTPC Club Kaniha, Youth Club Talcher NTPC Ltd Kaniha, Friends Club Talcher & Eleven Rider Angul.Chief Guest ,Shri Ramesh Babu V Group General Manger Talcher Kaniha inaugurated the tournament in presence of Shri N S Rao GM(O&M), Shri B.Maharana GM(Mntc) ,Shri K.Das GM(FM),Shri Nabin Bagai GM(C&M),senior officials,Secretary Sports Council and executive members of sports council.On the inaugural day two leagues matches were played between Youth Club Talcher Vs NTPC Club & Friends Club Talcher Vs Eleven Rider Angul In which Youth Club & Friends Club Talcher won their respective matches. In total six league matches will be played by the teams to reach the semi-finals and finals.
