Fire Service Week is observed at NTPC Kaniha from April 14 -20,2019. The inaugural function was organized at Fire Station in a befitting manner on April 14,2019. Shri Ramesh Babu V, Group General Manager (GGM) , NTPC Kaniha was the chief guest of the function.
On the occasion , flower tribute were presented at Martyr’s column by the Chief Guest,senior officers of management, DC(CISF), Asst. Commandant(Fire), Asst. Commandant(Plant) & CISF personnel. Two minutes of silence was observed in memory of the brave firefighters who sacrificed their lives during firefighting.
To mark the occasion, booklet highlighting the importance of fire service day & fire prevention was inaugurated by the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ramesh Babu said “fire safety is an important function of the power station and safety is a collective responsibility of NTPC & CISF wing. Contribution of CISF towards Fire Safety is praiseworthy”.
During the weekly observation of Fire Service week,banners on fire safety are displayed at various strategic locations of the plant area for wide publicity and leaflets regarding fire precaution were also distributed among employees & general public.
Lecture and Demonstration of First Aid Fire Fighting Appliances and fire prevention are organized at different locations including township schools to make the employees and public conscious about Fire Prevention.
