With the motive of supporting a social cause, NTPC Talcher Kaniha community came together for a cloth donation drive in its township on Nov 17th, 2019. The CSR initiative was voluntarily participated by employees family members ,ladies and students of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir (SSVM) ,private security personnel in large numbers who took the initiative of starting a door-to-door old clothes collection drive. 
To make this a long-lasting endeavor, NTPC Kaniha has decided to continue this drive quarterly i.e every four months , where old clothes will be collected, cleaned and ironed before distribution to the poor and needy. All donations will directly benefit people in orphanages, old-age homes and those living in peripheral villages around the Station.
To encourage more employees and family members for participation and to provide a platform for the same under CSR, a policy on collection and distribution of old clothes has now been rolled out in NTPC Kaniha Township. To encourage the volunteers, Shri K S Sarma,AGM(HR) and senior officials joined the drive and appreciated the efforts made for collecting old clothes for distribution.
