The71st Republic Day
was celebrated at NTPC Talcher Kaniha with great pride. Chief Guest of the event, Shri Sudip Nag, Chief General Manager hosted the National Flag at Ambedkar stadium of the power Station where school children along with CISF Security & Fire Wing participate in the parade.Shri Nag took the guard of honour on this auspicious day and made a call to remember the contributions of freedom fighters. He stated that on this very day, the Constitution of India was framed by Dr B. R. Ambedkar. Speaking on NTPC, he stated that “India’s largest power generating company, NTPC is playing an important role in the development of the country. Currently, NTPC Limited has an installed capacity of 58,156 MW.”
He spoke on various operational highlights of NTPC Talcher Kaniha. “I am proud to share with you that in the month of Dec’19, the Station has generated 97.59% DC and PLF of 82.26 %. To ensure fuel security, the Station is making efforts and has also started transportation of coal from Dulanga and Bhubaneswari mines along with import coal.”
Further, he highlighted the Station’s efforts for periphery community development with various CSR initiatives like GEM workshop, piped drinking water, Utkarsh scholarships, blood donation & mobile health camps etc.On the occasion, meritorious awards were given to 75 employees. Shri Manoj Kumar Tripathy ,Jr.Engineer was adjudged as the Employee of the Year. Cultural performance was given by school children where SSVM School bagged the prize for Best Cultural performance. Best Parade award in boys’ category was also won by SSVM School while Best Parade in girls’ category was bagged by DAV School.
