Palpalable tension erupted at Redhua village in Puri district as 10 police personnel including Gop IIC were detained by the locals while conducting a raid to arrest an accused.
However, claiming the case to be based on fabricated allegations, the locals detained the police team and villagers including women obstructed the movement of the two police jeeps.On being informed, Nimapara SDPO rushed to the spot and pacified the villagers. Following this, the locals let the police personnel go, sources said.
