India on Wednesday reported 1,115 deaths and 89,706 new COVID-19 cases, as per the Union Health Ministry data. With the spike, the total case tally now stands at 43,70,129 including 8,97,394 active cases and 73,890 deaths.So far, 33,98,844 patients have recovered from the infection in the country, pushing the recovery rate to 77.6 per cent.India is the country with the second-highest coronavirus caseload in the world after the United States.India’s trajectory of deaths due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is now the worst in the world and is continuously rising above the United States’ and Brazil’s, making it the country with the highest number of deaths.
