NTPC Sports Association and CSR team of NTPC Kaniha organised series of cricket games at the power station recently.To begin with ,the station organised Departmental Cricket tournament for male employees . The final was played between Operations Dept Group C vs Mechanical Maintenance(MMD) .In batting first after winning the toss ,scored 79 runs in limited 10 Overs and went to defeat MMD dept by 15 runs.Man of the match was V Satish and Man of the Series was Ram babu respectively.
in HODs match ,Chief General Manager XI team and General Manger XI ,Toss won by CGM XI elected to bat.They scored 92/3 runs in 10 overs and defeated General Manger XI by 15 runs who bundled out for 77 runs chasing the score.Man of the match was P K Sahoo and Best entertainer of the match went to Ramesh Babu V.
Further in Open day & night tournament- 2019 organised under CSR in which 16 teams from periphery villages.Out of all teams who played for the winning the title ,the final match was played by Gadasila vs Bijigol.Team Gadasila batting first put on 110/5 in 12 overs and went on to wiln the title by beating Bijigol team by 38 runs.Man of the Match – Rajesh das ,Man of the series -Mangulu sahoo,Best bowler -N Kabi & Best Discipline team -CISF respectively.
The cricket games were organised under the guidance of Shri K C Moharana,President and Shri Ajit Kumar Pradhan ,Secretary ,Sports Sports council and Executive members of the council. The ongoing world cup cricket added more glamour to the games.
