Addressing a press conference on Sunday on his two-day visit to Gujarat, AAP national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced his third pre-poll promise for the people of Gujarat ahead of the state assembly elections. The third promise is for the tribal people of the state.
Kejriwal said, “Our first and second guarantee was free electricity and jobs for all. Today, our third guarantee is tribal people who are completely neglected. For them there are separate arrangements in our constitution but nothing is done for them. We will implement the PAISA Act. The 5th schedule will be implemented. The tribal advisory committee will be corrected. Tribal advisory committee head should be tribal, but right now it is CM. We will change it, head should be tribal.”
The Delhi CM further added that health facilities and education will be provided to tribal people. “Like we have Mohalla clinics in Delhi, for tribals we will have Mohalla or Gaon clinics at each and every village. Tribal votes are said to be one of the most and silent voters. All medical treatment, be it big operations, everything will be done free of cost. We will smooth the process of making caste certificates. Roads to villages will be made,” Kejriwal added.
