India’s coronavirus tally on Friday crossed the grim mark of 20 lakh cases after the country reported the biggest single-day spike of 62,538 new COVID-19 cases and adding that 886 fatalities were reported during the same period.Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 20,27,075, according to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry. This number includes cases involving foreign nationals, patients who have recovered and the death toll.The death toll in India due to the novel coronavirus pandemic has risen to 41,585. The reported active COVID-19 cases in India now stand at 6,07,384, according to the Union Health Ministry.As many as 13,78,106 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far.
India’s 5 worst-affected states and Union Territories are Maharashtra,Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh Karnataka and Delhi.
ICMR has said that 2,27,88,393 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country till yesterday. Of these, 6,39,042 were tested yesterday.
